It seems for now, that the opposition have got their way and converted The Halfway House, to The Halfway cafe. Having visited Box and photographed it, I can understand why so many people want to fight for the pub's survival. The Halfway House is off the beaten track, but in a very picturesque location.
As a point of interest, there is a rather grand bus shelter near the pub (pictured), which has a tile picture, dipicting various scenes around Box and surrounding areas, inside the shelter.
