Visited Saturday evening, early March. Quite busy as per my 2022 review, though we did manage to grab a table this time. Four hand pulls for cask at the bar, with three available at the time of my visit, including Ossett Jet, something by Mallinsons, and another I couldn't remember.

2nd Visit - must have neglected to review last time.
Fine micro with a very pubby feel. Beer range is very good - with interesting keg and cask - I tried an Ossett Brewery Posh Rat and a Deya Stout, both on cask, both lovely.
Real unique feature is that you can bring a chippy tea in from next door. Your appreciation of this will probably depend on how hungry you are and if you like the smell of chips. And other people's chips always smell better than yours.
Definitely would call in again if in the area again. GBG regular.

The Cask in Liverpool Road (not to be confused with the much larger Cask in Ancoats) could easily be classed as a micropub. In fact, it did used to be a shop. Although it probably pre-dates the current micropub scene. My last visit was in 2013. I'm not sure how long it had been open before then.
Just the 3 ales were available on cask - Mobberley Brewhouse Sidekick, First Chop DDH Citra/El Dorado & Acorn Barnsley Bitter. However, there were several more craft beer options.
It was fairly busy on our Friday evening visit and is certainly a worthwhile option in this part of town.
