Located adjacent to a tram crossing, the Gardeners Arms is a large dry led pub with a central three-sided island bar counter that supports standard and premium keg as well as three hand pumps, two of which were in operation drawing Wainwright and TT Landlord. The main seating is found in the open plan front of the pub where long high tables are found. In the right rear is a seating area where empty wine bottles line the ceiling. The TV in here was off and some background music was playing. The staff were very welcoming, but this pub is too far off the main drag and too foody to warrant a revisit just for a beer.

The Gardeners Arms has benefitted from a recent refurb and is a smart looking pub inside and out. It's pretty much open plan with a central bar to break the space up. I don't know what it was like before the refurb but it seems quite food led now and most of the people that we saw were either eating or had just finished a meal. Drinkers are welcome too though and there is enough space to accommodate everyone, even if you can't escape the smell of fish.
Three hand pulls at the bar, one of which was off last night, the others being Robinsons Trooper and Caledonian Deuchars IPA (if I remember rightly). The one that was off had a turned round Robinsons Dizzy Blonde pump clip. A few keg beers on offer too, nothing too funky but Beavertown Gamma Ray stood against the usual suspects. A pint of this was over £5 though.
Not sure I'd be particularly inclined to rush back for a drink (due to the less than adventurous real ale offerings) but it would be a perfectly acceptable pub to have a meal in.
