Mostly laid out for food and decorated in a modern style with pale walls, the Rising Sun is also very much a pub, with Watneys Pale Ale and Oakham Citra on pump as well as a range of tinned beers and whiskies behind the bar. There is an outside area which faces Marble Hill Park. Good beer and good service. It would be pleasant to return.

The pub is situated on a sharp bend in the main road between Twickenham and Richmond and opposite Marble Hill Park, it looks as if an attempt has been made to restore the original exterior brown tiling which looks to have been recklessly rendered over at some point, sadly it looks beyond repair. Inside there is a bright and airy stripped out room with the standard issue boarded floor, a greyish blue lower wall wainscoting and white upper walls and ceiling. A large open to view kitchen complete with a pizza oven indicates the pub's direction, half the area of the single room has set tables however drinkers are encouraged too and the beer range was rather good. Five pumps offered Twickenham Naked Ladies, Timothy Taylor Boltmakers, Siren Dinner for Seven, Salopian Shropshire Gold plus Oakham Citra which spluttered and died however was immediately replaced and pulled through, you don't often see that these days. Top marks.
Some nice touches, a framed rugby shirt, metal Camp Coffee ad, some nice drawings of the Thames riverside plus a stack of board games and the daily papers. Mixed seating, some reserved, one table was fashioned from an old draughtsman's drawing board. Seating also outside, with patio heaters and facing the park across the road. Tv was off but the Rugby World Cup was advertised as you might expect around these parts.
I liked it in here, very nice beer and friendly service too, I'd certainly drop in again.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Aleksander
Located near the entrance to Marble Hill House, this thoroughly refurbished pub stands out due to its white paint scheme. The light decor is replicated inside too, giving an appealing appearance on a sunny day. Partly opened out, but both connected spaces are rather crammed with furniture (although the place was very busy when I called by on a Sunday afternoon and the only available seat was a stool at the bar). Patio beer garden to front and side full too. Good choice of beers from four handpumps: Shere Drop, Andwell Resolute, Oakham Citra and Thornbridge Wye (£3.60). Reasonable selection of keg beers and bottled beers as well. I enjoyed my brief visit here, so worth a visit if in the area.
