Strongers . left this review about The Northumberland
This review is from November 2008 when this pub was called Jim Thompsons. It then changed its name to West Putnay Tavern at the end of summer 2009 and then to The Northumberland which I think was its original name.
I quite liked it in here even though it is very food orientated with a large restaurant area at the rear. I didn't get into a deep and meaningful conversation with the Scottish landlady(?), but I did find her very friendly and helpful. No real ale is on offer and there are only a few standard lagers etc. There is a small plasma screen in the bar and a nice beer garden out the back.
I wouldn't want to stay here all night, but I would pop in for a couple if passing or hungry.
