A modern pub based on an extended 16th Century building which was, as the name suggests, the village forge. There is a tidy car park and a smart garden with tables, chairs and umbrellas. Inside is a single large bar with a selection of tables, chairs and sofas for diners and drinkers. The clientele are a mixed bag, mostly white collar workers, ladies wot lunch and locals. Three ales on - I had a pint of Ubu which was in very good condition. Worth deviating from the M3 to find for a decent beer or meal.
