A very idyllic looking pub with its thatched roof. There is a sculpture of a pheasant on the roof, obviously made by the thatcher, you can see from my photos.
The interior has low ceilings, a lit log burning stove, which heated both sides of the front lounge. Five beers on handpump, London Porter, Darkstar Hophead, Seafarers, HSB and London Pride.
I am quite partial to a London Pride, so I went for that, which was in good shape at £5.20 a pint.

An old (and expensive) thatched Fuller's pub with the expected range of their beers, another pub that leans quite strongly to the food side of things, certainly on a Sunday. It was very busy but not a place I would want to linger too long.

An old place with partially thatched roof incongruously opposite some 1970’s flats. Appears to be two buildings knocked together with a fair-sized rear garden. The L-shaped interior was almost exclusively given over to dining on our Sunday afternoon visit with every single table seemingly reserved so we had to squash in at the bar with a small group of other drinking-only locals. A Fullers house, with five on - Pride, HSB, Lancer (fair), Seafarers and a guest, Liberation ale from the Channel Islands. As expected, it’s an expensive pub. Gratis crisps and cheese in bowls at the bar lightened my mood a little but it’s too upmarket for its own good, really.
