Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Honest Politician
Basic shop-conversion bar that mostly operates as a late-night venue and pool hall (with seven tables) during the day. Plainly decorated and sparsely furnished, but plenty of sports TVs. It was a bit of a surprise to find two of the three handpumps working, with Tiny Rebel Cwtch (£2.05, half) and Rosie's Pig cider available.

A large lively high street bar in a former shop with a predominantly younger clientele, quite noisy but in a fun way. Wooden floors, a half-decent jukebox and an obvious motto – 'nunc oportet bibendum', I had no idea Latin was still spoken in Pompey. There is a pool table and a few gaming machines. There are three pumps on the bar but they had just run out of ale so I was reduced to a bottle of Newcastle Brown. In summary, it's a students' pub. Worth trying, but running out of beer isn't a good quality in a pub.

Fairly basic interior, wooden floors, bit dark
Beers available, Summer Lightning, Directors, & J S Smooth + usual lagers / ciders
Nothing to attract me back but maybe evenings is another matter
