I've not been here since around 1987 so my rating relates to that time, but recall that it wasn't a great experience though the same could probably be said of much of the '80s. It looks like a relatively modern pub on a fast-moving A-road, opposite what was once a filling station but is now a mini-trading estate.
Today, the place describes itself as a gastropub but the mainstay here is pizza or burgers with pineapple bacon jam or breaded brie - fish 'n' chips served on a slate does not a gastropub make.
Fortunately, you can work up a thirst walking to the Harrow Inn half a mile from here.
