I quite enjoyed it here. It was a much pleasanter drinking experience than the packed Spoons next door. A decent pint of Proper Job. Glad to have called in.

A Youngs pubco house,in a modern development but attached to an older building, the bar just seems uber trendy. There are vast plate glass windows,a lot of room for vertical drinking and just a few seats running under the window, some high tables opposite the bar, with two sofas at the end.The bar is very long, with two side staircases leading to a dining area.River views are limited although there is an external patio with wicker furniture.I noticed a drop down screen and an array of speakers high up,so I fear that the volume may get cranked up for the afterwork crowd and at other popular times. The menu is standard corporate fare, while the three handpumps were offering Youngs Bitter and Special (best avoided) with the usual guest of St Austell Proper Job in poor condition, flat and too warm.
Best avoided in future despite a cheery welcome.

A modern Young's pub within the Putney Wharf development. A functional glass box has been added onto the front of a large Victorian stock brick edifice which was once a vinegar distillery. The pub is large and spread over three floors with the top deck being a restaurant. The best of the river views will be from up there but you get partial views and a bit of ambience from the ground floor terrace which was a pleasant spot to sit for a while on a nice afternoon. The modern designer interior lacks any character however just like many of the brand's places these days.
Stuff to see on the walls includes rowing scenes, river pictures and a brass plaque which commemorates the 1941 bombing of The Castle pub which sat nearby, the result of which lead to a large loss of life.
Ordinary Bitter and Special on plus a nice drop from Twickenham Fine Ales, Summer Sun (£4.00).
An ok spot for a nice day when you can sit in the sun overlooking the river and a good double up with the decent spoons next door.
