A former coaching inn, previously Sidewalks, now reverted back to its original name and operated by Stonegate. The interior layout is as described by others, below, while the paved garden at the back was untidy to say the least. Things have slipped a bit, from previous reviewers' experiences. One pool table at the back had a dog climbing over it, chasing the balls, to the amusement of the rather immature females accompanying it. There were gaming machines for the few locals intelligent enough to use them, the barman couldn't get the card machine to work, and the atmosphere was heavy with vape. TV screens were showing live football, though no-one was watching it. Two handpumps on the bar, one dispensing Old Speckled Hen in very poor condition, barely drinkable, the other clipped Doombar but dry. That left a choice between Cruzcampo, Moretti, Peroni, Fosters, Guinness, Amstel, Carlsberg and Strongbow. It's definitely an improvement on the North Camp just along the road, but I shan't be making the effort to come back.

A long extended place which has a faint American tint and sports bar feel. Splits into two legs as you enter, the left side is the longer extension which leads to a basic paved patio rear area. Fairly blandly decorated but in decent order. Darts and pool spotted. I found similar to the review below, that the locals in here were a less rum lot than the pub next door and that the staff were friendly. No ale though a couple of Wells bottles in the fridge. I settled for half an Amstell for 2 quid which was in notably good shape so someone is making a point of cleaning the lines. Not my cup of tea but it’s fair enough for what it is – I expected a lot worse.

Now renamed Sidewalks Bar And Diner, it is fashioned on an American Diner/Sports Bar,Its appearance though is one of a low budget one. That said it seemed a perfectly functional one.A small bar servery is to your right as you enter from the street and beyond this stretches a longish room with various styles of seating along the way ,leading to an open area where we find two pool tables(5op a game). There are a couple of TVs for live sport. The clientele were a little more clean cut for want of a better phrase than those I had just encountered a few doors up the road in The North Camp. Not unsurprisingly, no real ale here but two or three different Lagers.Food was various types of Burgers and Hot Dogs. The lady serving behind the bar was pleasant and chatty. Its an OK place for its type, but its not really my type ,If you want a Lager, game of pool and a Hot Dog this could be for you but not much likelyhood of a return for me though.
