Fine location overlooking the Solent, a modern nautical theme inside. There is a bar area and conservatory along the sea front. They are a few benches outside and a terraced garden walk up the cliff side. Very food orientated, inside is mainly a restaurant and the outside has a limited menu service (fish & chips & the like). Limited menu, its not homely or a drinkers pub but the setting is fab.

Odd place, this.
Great location - with terracing overlooking the Solent. Yet they wont allow you to sit outside to dine. In a global pandemic.
Greeted at the door and had these rules explained to us. We only wanted a drink but it did make me chuckle when four pensioner ramblers purchased ice creams and sat on the wall outside - only to be told off.
Never thought I would hear the day when you couldn't eat a pot of ice cream outside.
Three real ales on - two tried - Doom Bar and Equinox in decent shape but not the most exciting.
Good Beer Guide 2021 Entry.

The Waterfront enjoys a lovely location overlooking the sea on the western edge of the island.
The interior is nothing special in the summer, when it is far better to be outdoors in the garden on a hill to the side of the bar, or along the sea wall. But I could imagine that inside would offer good protection from the elements in less clement times of the year.
There's a queueing system in operation in order to follow current Covid regulations. But the queue moved quickly. The ale selection has improved slightly since the last review. Indeed the pub is in the 2020 Good Beer Guide. Whilst Sharp's Doom Bar is still the resident ale, guests were a bit more adventurous - Dorset Brewing Company Tom Brown's & Island Vectis Venom.
Service was friendly. Parking is pay and display, but redeemable if you spend £30. But then you'd be over the drink drive limit, suggesting a focus on food much of the time. Recommended though.
