A roadside pub given a new lease of like by becoming the home of the Isle of Wight Distillery, which is located in the back. The interior has been knocked through into one large stone floored room and decorated in a sort of HMS Victory style. To the front is a lounge area with sofas while the rest is tabled. A shop counter at the rear sells the range of gins, vodka and rum, and the stills can be viewed through windows. Outside there are some patio tables to the front and a large deck at the rear with lovely views over the vineyard in the valley below, plus a garden area sometimes used for events. One or two island beers are available - I had a Fuggle-de-dum which was in good condition. Worth visiting to sample the spirits, but perfectly adequate for a beer also.
