Strongers . left this review about The Strawberry Gardens
Strawberry Gardens is a multi-roomed pub with a cosy front seating area to the left of the entrance and a dart room to the right that leads to a pool room further right. The L-shaped bar counter sits on the right-hand wall where it faces some seating that backs onto a raised seating area up the left-hand side. Some open plan seating is found at the rear where I sat to watch a bit of Euro24 football action on the lone television in the bar area. The service was very friendly, but only standard keg was available. The pub’s location is a little too far out of town to warrant a revisit.

A small, traditional roadside pub, small enough to be called a cottage pub, once presumably in a strawberry-growing part of Offerton, but now looking a little forlorn. The building of several extensions to make it a modern dining pub has no doubt done wonders for trade, but left me regretting the loss of what can now only be guessed at by way of the former internal features. In fact, there are clues in the small lounge to the left on entering, which has been quite well preserved, and the equivalent area on the right which has instead been extended and modernised, with a pool table, darts and bright, garish wallpaper. I found my way to the bar where there was no cask beer available, so I had a half of Theakstons Best Bitter from one of the keg taps and took it to the preserved room near the front door. The dark wood panelling, glazed screens and fixed bench seating would make this a welcome venue for a prolonged session, though the absence of hand pumps makes this unlikely. (The Theakstons keg bitter is, in my opinion, actually better than the cask version, but I wouldn't want to drink more than a half of either of them.)
