Large corner pub in a residential area that last appeared in the Good Beer Guide back in 2003. The friendly landlord had a couple of real ales to offer us - Wainwright or Doom Bar. We all chose the Wainwright and ventured out to the bowling green at the rear to sup our drinks. After having had some fairly questionable beers in Blackpool, it was a real relief to drink a beer that had been kept in very good condition.
The best Wainwright I've ever had and a bit of a turn up for the books, after my initially low expectations.
