The Picture House looks like what would be a grand old building when first built,it now looks quite tatty from the outside,which is a shame.
Once inside there is a large L shaped room with the bar facing,the floor is part tiled and bare boarded,the seating is normal tables and chairs and some bench seating,there is a small raised area to the mid left,the rear area is up a couple of steps,there is a pool table to the front right,the TVs were showing cricket.
No real ales here so it was a drink of John Smiths Smooth crap which was crap,there was also crap background music playing.
This seemed a very depressing place to have drink in.

A magnificent early 20th century cinema now a pub of sorts. Oddly very full of old men drinking John Smiths Smooth at 11am on a Saturday morning, with a collection of mobility scooters outside; I guess the demographic would be much different in the evening given the size of the DJ's area. There are a few older details still remaining but it's largely all standard fittings for this sort of place and not as new as you'd expect. The furnishings are old wooden tables and chairs, with a battered sofa, pool tables with the usual balustraded raised areas in the corners. A collection of T-bars provide the drinks and pictures of old Castleford the decor.

Old cinema that could easily be mistaken for a Wetherspoons from the outside as well as the inside.Although there was no cask beer on, you cant really grumble at £1.60p a pint for John Smiths Smooth.
