A rather basic, but very busy pub with many sunning themselves in the sizable outside space with good views of both the Cathedral and Castle. The single room inside was also well attended with just two cask beers on, Doom Bar and Old Speckled Hen, it seemed most were drinking lager. Not my kind of place.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Ye Arrow

Linked to the Jolly Knight round the corner by a corridor, the bar has some exposed timbers whereas the hall-like main seating area has dark wood-panelling. Furniture is more modern than one might expect, and the banquette seating has been re-covered recently by the look of things. Also has a substantial rear patio area. Two of five handpumps in use on this revisit, offering Old Speckled Hen and Old Golden Hen (in reasonable shape).

A rather naff function suite/carvery off the High Street, as mentioned below owned by and attached to the Jolly Knight. The large room is fitted with mock-Tudor panelling, which appears to have been stripped of any adornments so it all feels a bit empty. There is a drinking area outside facing the castle. Ales on offer were Doom Bar, St Edmunds and Speckled Hen, however those sampled were not in good order at all. Disappointing.
