I'm sure I must have been here before, but entering today I found no memories at all. The interior looks like it's been opened out, with criss-crossing beams, but there's a small games room to the right which looks like an old snug, and the bar is cosy, with white painted wood panelling on the bar and reception counters. Four hand pumps, with beers from Bowness Bay, Bowland and Black Sheep. My initial half of Black Sheep was so good (NBSS 4) that I felt obliged I to have another, even with my bus approaching. All the more remarkable that the real ale was so good when almost all the beer sold when I was here (on a busy Saturday afternoon) was Cruzcampo, in my opinion the worst of the industrial lagers.
