Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Famous Ship Inn
Stretching back towards the restaurant and roof deck overlooking the beach, the central part claims to be "The Original Ale House Est. 1798" although the High Street End houses most of the present day pub. Changed hands in 2023 after 38 years, and the narrow, elongated bar has been refurbished in a relatively light style with a mix of traditional and modern elements. Three cask ales on handpump: Timothy Taylor Golden Best, the Knight's Ale from Canterbury Ales (£4.75) and Young's 'London Original'.

E TA left this review about The Ship Inn
The Ship is a small, quirky pub near the seaside which has plenty of character and decent beer. It occupies a corner spot in the run-down High Street and has a mixed clientele of locals, passers-by nand rugby fans, plus a few CAMRA die-hards. The staff are pleasant and efficient, and occasionally very patient with the more obnoxious elements who creep in. Two ales on, I had a pint of Hopdaemon Inncubus which was in excellent condition and most enjoyable. Worth a visit if passing and a good place to spend an evening.
