This old-style Georgian town pub is named after the eponymous hero of the Peninsular and Crimean wars; the "old" refers to the pub rather than the Lord, as there were once two pubs of this name in Chatham. The current business was established in Chatham town centre but moved to its current location, a building supposedly built in 1789 and altered during the mid-18th Century, in 1903. The other Lord Raglan was further along the A2 but has now been demolished. It is rough and a bit shabby, but it's a proper local boozer which welcomes strangers but puts up with no trouble. We encountered good-natured banter from the staff and regulars as soon as we entered, but it was clear we were welcomed. It is a single room pub, carpeted, with a pool table and gaming machine. It's a bit out of the way, and there's no real ale.
