Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Wheel Inn
Formerly a Shepherd Neame house, now newly reopened as an independent pub after a comprehensive refurbishment. Mix of semi-traditional and semi-modern features in the mostly opened-out, L-shaped, slightly split-level bar area. Separate dining room further back, and a few tables out in the rear beer garden. Wainwright Gold (£5.50) and Hobgoblin IPA available from the pair of handpumps. Despite some initial local complaints about its 'no children under 14 policy', it had plenty of custom on a Sunday lunchtime.

A Shepherd and Neame pub, probably late 18th Century, renovated in the Victorian period, first licensed in 1839, signed from the A20 but hidden away in a fairly affluent remote village. There are various bars and eating areas which cater for drinkers, diners and families. The garden is large and pleasant, and there is adequate parking outside. There is a friendly boxer dog in residence. There are woodburners, wooden floors and a delicious aroma of home cooking as you enter. The only ale on was Masterbrew, which was OK but not on peak form. Meals on offer included roast diners and as well as some of the usual pub offerings, but all appear to be freshly cooked so it's a cut above the average. This is a good traditional country pub, unpretentious, worth rolling in for a beer or a meal.

Pleasant country pub with decent choice of ales (albeit Shepherd Neame) and good food
