Very extensive Everards place. Alan’s observation about the lack of front entrance still holds true. Done-out contemporaneously but quite tidy with a bit of atmosphere. To the left is a nice raised warren of a dining area (be prepared to be chased by staff if you wander in there with a drink) and to the right is the bar area. It was a bit dark in here (another Winfield observation from 2011!), could do with some lightning-up from the oppressive green paint. Four ales on, 3x Everards and a guest from Lincoln Green. My Old Original was pretty good (NBSS 3.5). Will have another crack at this one and see how consistent it is. 6.5

The Forge is an old pub on the western side of Glenfield.
The front door to this pub is closed and you now have to enter the pub from the car park at the back,once inside there was one long narrow room with the bar facing there was also a raised area to the left this room was quite dimly lit and had some daft music playing on the sound system and was the sort that nobody knows who does it.There were different types of seating with a few chesterfield settees dotted about the place and a TV was on but no sound coming from it.
This pub is an Everards tied house but it is not signed in their usuall manner though there is a small sign at the rear saying Everards.
There were three real ales on here and i had a drink of Everards Beacon bitter and this was quite a nice drink the other beers were Everards Tiger bitter and Original.
There were a few other drinkers in here but i think this pub is trying to cater for the 30s type professionals and not normal drinkers like myself.
