Work to turn it into a betting shop has begun.
The application has still to be rubber-stamped by council chiefs, but the wheels to turn the historic pub into a gambling premises are already in motion.

When I called in here recently I was encourage by a Cask Marque symbol outside, but the hand pumps on the bar were devoid of any pump clips. On enquiry, it turned out that the people running the pub were temporary managers and they confirmed there was no real ale on and they didn't know who would be running the place when they left.
