A splendid stone-built rural village pub with several rooms and considerable character. The decoration is neatly placed enamel signs and similar antique tut, which was perhaps a little contrived, but a good atmosphere nonetheless. The six handpumps have regulars of Oakham JHB, Adnams Bitter and Bass, with 3 changing ales of differing strengths. No food, although a pizza van outside operates on Fridays and Saturdays. Recommended.

The Five Horseshoes is a nice looking stone built pub.
The front door is not used so the entrance is from the right side,once inside the main bar area was just to the left,this area had a stone floor,there was a bare boarded area off this to the front of the pub,plus two small rooms either side of the main room,the room to the front right was down a slope,the ceilings were beamed and the walls were of bare brick and stone.
There was a seperate pool room to the right.
There was a really good choice of beers on the bar,i had a drink of Oakham JHB which was a really nice drink,the other beers i noted were Abbeydale Deception,Abbeydale Absolution,Oakham Apple,Flipside Chippings IPA,Doom Bar and Adnams Broadside.
This is a proper old pub that is unaltered inside.
I really liked this pub,it is the sort of pub you could settle in for a good session.
If you are in the Stamford area give this one a go you wont be dissapointed.
