Expensive place offering accommodation and a restaurant as well as a modern bar. White painted exterior with a tasteful cream and pale green interior, broad old boards floor and dignified lighting. The servery is central with seating and eating areas to the sides, there’s a more formal restaurant at the rear. Three pulls offering Wherry and a bitter from Barham which in spite of them knowing it was the end of the barrel served it anyway. Not opaque but fairly poor taste wise, shocking behaviour given their prices. Two T-Bars of the usual national standards. Place settings, supercilious staff, reserved signs and ‘spoons style table clearing didn’t enhance the pub going experience either.

The Globe has been done up in the North Norfolk style.
The exterior is painted in varying shades of blue with small and well kept terrace at the front for alfresco drinkers. To the right is large courtyard with further tables and bounded by rooms let by the pub. It is also complete with a pizza oven and chef which, oddly, is barely mentioned on the menu.
Inside the bar is at the front with a far larger dining room to the rear. It's all stripped pine and blues with very superior loos down the stairs.
The menu is gastro with prices to match, mains are between £15 and £24. We didn't eat so couldn't assess the value but a bowl of chips disappeared quickly enough.
Beers on were Norfolk Brewhouse Moon Gazer Pacific Pale Ale, Woodforde Wherry and Adnams Ghost Ship, the latter in great shape. Not a wide selection but not bad for this part of the world.
I enjoyed a pint or two outside here on a sunny and would gladly return if passing.

One of those gastro-pubs where beer seems to be a bit of an afterthought. This is understandable in the countryside, but in the back streets of a small town like this, surely there should be enough people who would welcome the chance of popping out to somewhere welcoming for a late evening beer? We were doing just that, and found ourselves some seats at a small table in a corner off the main room. Unfortunately there were no curtains, and after staring uncomfortably at our own reflections for a few minutes we quickly supped up and moved on. Beer offering was Woodfordes: Wherry and Nelsons Revenge, in very good condition but a little on the cold side and quite pricey at just short of £4 a pint.
