Friendly country pub on a main A-road that opens late during the week.

We arrived late afternoon to find the friendly barmaid and only a few customers. One less friendly customer had 4 rather smelly dogs in tow. When we remarked on the dogs, he just scowled at us.

Adnams Ghost Ship is the regular ale. 4 guests were Greene King IPA, Fuller's London Pride, Woodforde's Bure Gold & Lacon's Encore. I was hoping for a real cider, but couldn't see any. As such, I settled for a Bure Gold.

The chef arrived not long before we were leaving and it seems that they were fully booked for food. She was also quite friendly, greeting us as she arrived.

A cosy place that scores an extra point from me for its welcoming nature.
