Modern(ish) pub on the rural fringe of the city, with a railway signal outside as this was once the site of Earswick Station on the Market Weighton line. Inside there is a separate lounge and a public bar, furnished appropriately to the age of the pub, he said kindly. This being from 1982, don't expect too much sartorial elegance. Much to my surprise there were two Robinson's beers on handpump, alongside the TT Landlord, although the condition of the Unicorn was not great - Dizzy Blonde not sampled. Cheery enough though, and the locals seemed happy.
