Two bar village pub in a northern suburb of York close to the ring road. One side is a dining lounge, three pulls in this side, it’s divided into two areas. The other side is more a public bar although nicely carpeted and with well upholstered banquette seating at wooden tables. Four hand pumps here but with the same three beers on, Doombar, White Rat and Landlord, the Landlord being graced with a Champions Club Member clip, beer quality is excellent. Usual suspects on low T-Bars. This bar is equipped with a large TV and various speakers, tasteful (mostly) cricketing prints and photos adorn the walls and there’s a collection of novelty teapots. Classic pub colour scheme of red and cream with brown varnished wainscoting and counter. Otherwise much the same as Graham found.

Tucked away off the main road, this is a nice old two-room pub with a floral exterior and a homely feel. Both sides are traditionally furnished, with dark wood tables and various old photos and brass decorations - the main difference beings the dining side was draped with tablecloths. Outside there is a large paved and gravelled area of tables to the rear. On hand pump were TT Landlord, Rat Brewery White Rat and Doom Bar: condition good. Note that access to the car park is off North Moor Road.
