A large 1930s brick built pub near the racecourse, there are two bars plus a selection of smaller rooms attached. The main bar is at the front of the pub and has a rear counter with banquette seating in front, there are a couple of armchairs beside the fire place. Beers today were two from Rudgate and two from Ainsty in good order. It’s a Greene King pub but of course being Yorkshire none of their cask beers are on sale here. Greyed walls with miscellaneous photos and pictures as decor, there’s a screen or two, machines and a beer garden.

As the previous reviewers mention this is a large pub and very handy for the racecourse. There were 4 cask beers on show Anglers Retreat from the Wold Top Brewery,Leeds Pale Ale,Hardy and Hanson's Olde Trip and Yankee from The Rooster Brewing Co. There is also a function room to the right of the bar plus a friendly dog.

Well-run and deceptively large pub hidden away in residential streets. There is a large bar with games, TV screens etc, a rectangular middle bar with more of a saloon feel, and a slightly strange area to the side useful for eating. A very good range of local brews in good condition, including some unusual ones - Cask Marque listed. Only a brief visit but definitely intend to come back.
