Old Boots left this review about White Swan Hotel
On the opposite side of the Market Place to the pubs this is more of a brasserie / bar with little or no hint of pubbiness about it. To one side is the bar and a seating area while there is a formal dining area up to the left and stretching to the back. There are four handpumps of well kept beers mainly from Black Sheep (Bitter, Ale and Golden Sheep) plus John Smiths and a keg range, wine makes more impact of course given the ethos of the bar. Decorated with Laura Ashley type wallpaper and old photos the bar is very pleasant and non-pub like, the eating areas (eating is not allowed in the bar, which I approve of) are decorated in a cross between an English tea room and a French cafe, the photos and prints in here are of French cafes. There are also a lot of mirrors and each table has a small oil lamp in a box.
