Alex Conway left this review about New Carrington Inn
The New Carrington Inn is a detached ex ships tons pub on the busy Mansfield road. The pub has had many name changes over the years and was originally the New Inn so the current name has gone somewhat back to what it used to be called. It has always had a bit of a naff reputation and from what I have heard has never really been a great pub at any point. You enter up a set of stairs as the pub is all on a higher level than the main road. The pub has been knocked through to make one large open plan room with the square shaped bar on the right hand side as you enter. The pub has a very bland decor and has obviously had some cheap modern modernisation over the years which leave in in a pretty naff characterless feel. There is a pool table in the middle of the room and a small stage are to the front were northern soul dj’s paly on a weened but apart from this soulless. There are three pumps on the bar that are unused hand have been for what is probably a lot of years and they have taken the mild out as well. This left me with no other option than a Guinness at £3.40 which was fine. There was no one in on my Thursday evening visit which meant the already drab pub was excruciatingly boring aside from some very shady looking people who wanted to play pool and not buy a drink. This is a very sad and basic boozer that needs to change as it appeals to no one. I hope it gets something sorted as I don’t know how a place like this can survive, I won’t be bothering again as it was pretty poor all round.

This pub was originally called the New Inn but it has had a few name changes over the years.
This is a stand alone pub that is set sideways onto the main road, once inside the pub had a couple of rooms with a smart lounge and a decent bar,i have had a drink in both rooms and enjoyed my time drinking here.
This pub used to be a Shipstones tied house and there were two real ales on the bar both Shipstones mild and bitter were very nice drinks here.
This pub is still open but i dont know what beers are now on the bar.
