Alex Conway left this review about The Framesmiths Arms
The Framesmiths Arms Is a bare brick corner pub located at the side of the main road running through the Center of Bullwell. There is a painting above the door of a monkey that has been there for years and so the pub is known by locals simply as “The Monkey”. You enter via a corner door into what is now a large oblong shaped room with the bar running parallel down the right hand side and curving round the corner. The decor is very bland not very traditional in style like the Royal oak instead having hard lino floors and square walls with very little in the way of decoration. The back of the pub there is a knocked through area that houses a pool table and dart board. The drinks selection as in every other dire pub in Bullwell was as shocking as ever even though there were two new shiny hand pulls on the bar with one unclipped and one with Harvest pale turned around. When I enquired as to the availability of the HP I was told that “we don’t do that anymore, it doesn’t sell”. Grimacing at what the landlady had just said to me I reluctantly ordered a pint of Guinness for £3.40 and had a game of pool with my friend while the half a dozen customers sat along the side of the bar singing along to Elvis on the free jukebox. There is also a large concrete are outside with a few benches and a undercover shelter for smokers. Overall a pretty soulless bland pub with crap beer at a slightly more than the usual cheap as chips Bullwell prices meaning this place hasn’t got much going for it. What a shame it didn’t match the outside look of the pub as on the outside it looks much comfier and more traditional. Yet another rubbish Bullwell pub that I will high likely never return to.

The Framesmiths Arms is a small corner pub that is in the middle of bulwells shopping area.
This was quite a basic pub which had a longish narrow bar there may have been another room but i did'nt look. This pub used to be a Shipstones tied house and there were two real ales on the bar and both Shipstones mild and bitter were very nice drinks here.
