A nice ale forward pub, a former Shipstones house dating from the early 20th century, a long bar is home to ten hand pumps, all working on my Saturday night visit and although I was beyond listing all beers on at this stage of the day , my Oakham Green Devil was superbly good and I could have happily spent the rest of the evening in the pub drinking that along with many of the other offerings.
A top pub.

A good beer exhibition pub, with 10 or so handpumps from a good selection of breweries, some local and some from further afield. The decor isn't that great but there are a nice series of different rooms, with a sun patio and a heavily-tabled lawn behind. There is also a large gorilla sculpture in the garden, for no apparent reason.
