A former Victorian music hall, converted to a pub by a charity and a most interesting place to visit.Quite a bit of the original interior remains although the stage has disappeared with just a mixing desk high above the former stalls. There is a staircase to the balcony which wraps around the building ,above which is a glass sky light. The bar on the ground floor is to the left and has pavement glass panels giving light to the cellar bar which was closed on my trip, and has it's own seperate entrance outside. There are fine supporting columns holding up the balcony ,while seating is a mix of shallow banquettes and dining type tables.
The handpumps were offering Castle Rock Tackle This,Oakham Citra,Adnams Ghost Ship,Titanic Plum Porter,a real cider and Deya Steady Rolling Man (excellent,NBSS 4.5).
Really should be in the GBG with that range and quality,it's a must visit pub in an area of town dominated by yoof bars.I will certainly be back .

Very interesting place, small but high ceiling and mezzanine balcony. Wood floor, leather sofas in middle of room, long, thin decorative pillars and the bar is along one wall. Attractive pub and 5 real ales & a cider, though the beer quality was average on my visit.

Popped in again this Friday after a meal in town and no real change. Decent pint of Music Hall bitter and space for 5 to sit and chat. keep it up.

A place on the up after some time closed. Now serving a decent assortment of brews, the real asset of this place is it's architecture. A superb vaulted ceiling spans the main room with it's balcony. Food is available to go with your beer and there seems to be a full on music programme, although I have never heard any here. A real must do in the nottingham city area, I will return again and again.
