A much-lauded village pub, under the clutches of Brakspear which seems a little out of their catchment area. An L-shaped bar serves two distinct areas - dining to the left and a bar area to the right which snakes towards a decent beer garden put back where Aunt Sally is played during the summer months. Dimly-lit, boarded floors, rendered walls and exposed beams retain an aura of traditionality although it is let down by a pedestrian ale selection of Brakspear Bitter (x2) and Wychwood Hobgoblin. A little lax on the latter would have bumped this up further.
