I used to have a rule that if you're looking for a pub in a strange village, look for the church tower. Sadly that doesn't work so often these days but we got a result here when nosing round this bit of rural Oxfordshire. It's well described by AW below, with parts dating back to the 13th century. Currently the banners outside are for Sky Sport, but don't let that put you off, Sky Sport viewing is conducted in an adjacent barn cum function room. There's a big garden on the hillside.
Anyway all very village pub, I'll even forgive whoever flogged them a tin of gastro-grey paint: the pub-grub menu is anything but gastro. We enjoyed a convivial half hour in front of the fire, enjoying tip-top Landlord and Hooky Bitter. Other beers are available.
Open all day and well worth calling in if you are in the area.

The George and Dragon is a stone built pub that is situated in front of the village church.
Once inside the bar was to the left this room had a stone floor and wooden tables,there was also a real fire on the go,there is a larger room to the right which is for diners.
This pub had banners outside saying North Oxfordshire pub of the year 2011 but the beer choice seemed a bit boring in my opinion,there were five real ales on the bar and i had a drink of Hookey bitter which was a decent drink the other beers were London Pride, Pedigree, Doom Bar and GK Abbot.
