Henry Tudor Inn, apparently established in 1429, is a Joules pub that has been decorated in a medieval style with wooden flooring, carved fittings and fixtures and lots of thick dark wood throughout. There are also lots of ‘aged’ artifacts and paintings, including a Tudor portrait of Amy Winehouse. Beyond the front entrance, that sits below three leaded stained-glass windows, is a front seating area with high tables and repurposed table barrels up the side walls. On the rear wall is a raised snug that sits centrally between steps up to a second seating area that is separated from the front facing bar by a large chimney breast with a double-sided fireplace that houses a burner. On the bar was the Joules keg range plus Carling, Staropramen, a couple of ciders and Guinness. One of the five hand pumps was reverse clipped and two had ‘coming soon’ signs, so the two cask options were Joules Citra Blonde and Captain’s Amber. The rear counter faces a raised circular banquette snug and in the left rear is a sunken tile floored area with open plan seating and some booths up the left-hand wall where there were some dining customers. The service was friendly and I liked the atmosphere, although the 20th century pop music playing in the background didn’t really suit the surroundings.

Brainy Pool left this review about Henry Tudor House

Tudor building given a recent overhaul into a medieval pastiche by Joules. At least it does suit the character of the building and it’s very atmospheric. Five pulls with regular and seasonal beers, I enjoyed my Moon Madness and the food is good “elevated” traditional fare.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Henry Tudor House

Substantial building extending back down a passageway off Wyle Cop, now run by Joule's. The interior is just what you might expect, in a "is it or isn't it old" kind of way. Anyway, any cynicism aside, it does what it sets out do quite well... and there are plenty of interesting decorative features. It retains two separate bars, although the handpumps are only located on one side of the central servery, and I found Pure Blonde, Pale, Slumbering Monk and the seasonal Chocolate Corker stout (£4.20).
