Not one of the Sheffield area's more attractive pubs, and the speeding traffic going past outside discourages potential photographers who might want to look for a better shot by stepping back a little. Once inside it's a traditional interior with three rooms and bench seating around the walls. There's an "under new management" banner across the front door but despite the sign on the outside wall saying "cask beer" there is not even a disused hand pump on the bar. I went for the Stones Bitter on keg, which was too cold. Apart from the lass behind the bar there were only two other people on the premises at the time of my Tuesday afternoon visit. I imagine it gets busier at weekends; many pubs of this sort would have their inner walls and the seating stripped out and high chairs and tables installed, so I'm quite glad to have seen this pub's throw-back look more or less intact.
