Alan Winfield left this review about The Botanical
The Botanical looked to be in a very sorry state when i tried to do it,with lots of worn out posters on its front door.
I am pretty sure this pub has now closed down.

Will Larter left this review about The Botanical
One of the more pub-like of the bars that form the Friday night circuit on Ecclesall Road, and quite a bit quieter than either the Graze Inn or Champs. The music here was not so loud that we had to shout at each other to be heard, so the atmosphere was a lot calmer. Having said that, the heart does sink a little when approaching the bar to see a choice of Courage Directors Bitter and Wells Bombardier. I've had the occasional decent pint of the latter, but this was not one of those occasions. Let's just say it was OK, and to be fair very cheap at £2.45 a pint. (Even the £1.99 price tag on the Courage wouldn't get me drinking that again.) This pub was OK as a respite in our mini-crawl, but I wouldn't make any effort to come here again for its own sake.
