Will Larter left this review about The Porter Cottage
I've called in here a couple of times this year, but each time was rather underwhelmed with the beer choice available. There are three hand pumps on the bar, but all three were featuring pale and bland beers such as Bradfield Farmers Blonde. In their favour, these were all locally brewed, unlike all the "foreign" beers down the road at the Lescar. Perhaps this was just bad luck on my part, though I'm not planning to go back in a hurry just in case it's actually policy.
