This freehouse is included in the East Anglian Camra Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors. It features interconnecting rooms on different levels. Also there are oak beams, stone floors, wooden bench seating. There is a games room at the end of the pub, with a pool table. Serves large portions of food, so quite a few people dining on our Tuesday eve visit. Three handpumps on the bar and two more ales from the cask. They also had seven ciders on offer. The manageress was chatty and friendly. Had some good beers here and my favourite on the day was Saffron Brewery Flying Serpent.

A unique pub, has 6 little rooms with a traditional feel, at the time of our visit there was some young guys playing darts and pool with a juke box on in one room with folk music being played in another, some 'locals' were playing a very complicated card game known as 'Phat' in another, not many pubs these days could have such a wide range of activities on at the same time!
My wife and I ate in the dining room whilst enjoying the music, food is good honest pub grub, I enjoyed a locally shot Pigeon Burger whilst my wife had a huge Cod and Chips with trimmings. The Real Ale was in tip top condition, apparently always serving Adnams Bitter with 3 changing Guest Ales, which at the time of visit were from Green Jack, Grain and Woodfordes. Also had a choice of local Ciders.
Will certainly visit again.

My wife and I visited this pub around Sept 2007 because it was recommended to us. The only thing that we would recommend about it is that at the time of our visit it needed a darn good clean, additionally the food offered was of a very poor standard.
