I used to come here many times in my youth, although in fairness it was a small butcher's shop then. Now it is a big, noisy and horrible glitzy bar with little to commend it. Thankfully there was no-one serving at the bar when I arrived, nor after a visit to the gents so I called it quits and left. I didn't really want any Neck Oil anyway, which was the best of a bad line of keg rubbish.

Yates’s have certainly followed the Wetherspoons route in regard to cheap food and drinks, but whereas Wetherspoons pubs usually have a wide selection of ales, in contrast, Yates’s have opted to have a large selection of plasma screens. Bombardier was available from the two hand pumps disguised as draught taps during my visit early on Friday evening and a standard draught selection was also available. The Guinness was actually OK, but I wasn’t tempted by the drinks deal of ‘4 explosive bombs for £10’. Sky Sports is shown and there is a pool table on a small raised area at the rear of this open plan pub. There is also a pinball machine tucked away in the far corner and all of the screens were showing music videos which were probably on to entice in some of the scantily dressed local woman that were noisily careering around the streets outside.

The staff were actually very polite and on the ball, but I would walk past if, heaven forbid, I find myself in Woking Town Centre on a weekend evening again.
