Not the most salubrious-looking pub, with some fairly horrible post-war extensions on the front and surrounded by cars and trailers in varying states of repair. Inside is sort of Z-shaped, with various little areas before the bar in the middle, leading through to a larger room and the garden beyond. Very much a community pub serving the Maybury Estate, with two pool tables, a dartboard and projection screen for sports backing up several TVs, but friendly enough. The garden has a tabled patio area and then a grassed section with benches, plus a marquee although not clear what that was being used for. One of a pair of handpumps was in use, and much to my surprise serving a tolerable pint of Banks's Amber at a very reasonable £3.40. An old-school boozer that I might just drop by again if in the area.
