The Albany is a decent looking pub that is a short walk from the Royal Oak.
Once inside there is an L shaped room with the bar facing,the floor is part bare boarded and carpeted,the seating is a mix of normal tables and chairs and tall tables and stools plus a few settees.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Caledonian New Dawn,which was a decent enough drink,the other beer was Deuchars IPA.
This seemed a decent enough pub to me,but was almost empty on my Saturday afternoon visit.

Ordinary gastro pub serving three ales,Caledonian XPA,Portobello Chestnut Ale and something called Treacles Tipple, possibly another Caledonian beer, the XPA was fairly unremarkable,as expected,much like the pub itself,seems to be a meeting place for various couples.

Average gastro pub. Quite a small interior but with modern style furniture. This pub tends to have only a couple of ales on tap at the most. Normally Greene King IPA and Theakston Old Peculiar. There is currently a pub quiz on Sundays evenings. This is ok, but I have to warn that the price of beer can be very expensive.
