Soup Dragon left this review about The Comedian
This was quite an interesting pub and if i read my mapwork correctly, it goes like this - there was, on the site, in the late Victorian period a pub called the Tipton Tavern (with other buildings). By 1938, this pub had been rebuilt and the buildings around it, gone. I believe it was bombed on 17th May, 1941 - when several bombs hit the road, killing several people. It was rebuilt again and enlarged - but on the 1967 OS map, it is still called the Tipton Tavern. It later changed its name to the Hallbridge Arms, and then again to The Comedian (c2008) - as i believe it had a room for comedy and magic performances etc. It has now become The Pearl Girl - a shop that sells beads and does classes regarding bead craft - also coffee.
