My first visit to the Quest in years. I used to use the old George & Dragon years ago. I had a pint of "Knights Quest Ale" which was fine.

A large detached, mainly undressed brick pub, eatery and music venue. With its front facing gable and string course it looks a little bit like an Edwardian gentleman's home! Has a patio area.
The interior is an L-shape open room around the serving bar with a large stage area at the one end and the carvery serving bar at the other. The place is set out for food really during the day and some tables can be cleared of the dance floor by the stage if need be on the evening. I did'nt try the carvery, or other food they did, so can't comment on that, other than they seemed value priced at £2.95. The decor is red, green and cream, in the style of these gastopub places, with arty styled prints on the walls - in the same style. The service was fine, the clientele small as we visted in the in-betweeny food and music time - indeed the sound checking was a little loud! There was no TV that i saw.
Beer; tap stuff with Banks's MILD, bitter and Marston's Pedigree on handpull. The MILD was OK.
I visit pubs for the beer and this is more of a place you would come to for food and the extensive music entertainment - i have added their weblink onto this page. Different to the other pubs around in that it is clearly able to put on bands on a good stage, rather than tucked up a corner and with three real ales, i could happily watch a band here, just not really want to pop into for a pint alone.

Was the George & Dragon which was closed down. Name changed (but subtle link retained) to aid fresh start!
