The Raynes Park Tavern as was, would seem to date from around the late 19th century, built to serve Raynes Park railway station, 1871, the pub rebuilt in 1904.
With some secluded booth-style space to the left-hand side with natural wood field panelling, beneath the vaulted ceiling the heritage-free interior is a fair size, bare boarded with a quarry tiled bar apron, the bar array modern, with glass fronted cabinets, the whole interior painted a very dark green, lighting from some fluted glass affairs, décor in the form of some miscellaneous prints. There are plenty of games machines flashing away and many a TV, showing silent unwatched sport; music played at quite some volume, come my Friday 9.15pm visit. Customers were mixed, harmless locals and unlike me, were in good spirits, seated atop mixed furniture, tables topped with laminated menus.
Cask offerings amounted to just Abbot, GK IPA and something suspicious called ‘Brewing Heritage’, all swerved in favour of a half of Cwtch Clwb Tropica, a horrible cloudy fruity keg offering, £3.75 a half, served by a friendly barmaid.
Certainly I’ve been in worse pubs than this, but if I lived locally, I’d jump on the bus and head for the superior pubs in neighbouring SW19.

Nice pub, close to the station. Lots of comfortable seats. Extensive main menu also has burger menu and s menu for the kids. Outside seating which catches the sun, but is close to the main road, so is a bit noisy. 3 ale taps, two Timothy Taylor, Boltmaker & Golden Best. One called Wimbledon Common. Dark wood everywhere. Worth a visit.

I always head down to this pub to watch the football. There is always a good atmosphere but never any trouble. Always serves a great pint of Pride too. Very handy from Raynes Park station.
