Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Waterend Barn (JD Wetherspoon)
Somewhat hidden away behind the shops lining St Peter's Street and Victoria Street, the buildings forming this 'spoons are rather more interesting inside than the innocuous exterior would suggest. There are two main halls (originally barns, relocated here in the late 1930s), with the bar in the larger one, plus the small Blenheim Room and another seating area in the central lobby. Also has a patio area at the front. Efficient service. Total of 12 handpumps, with the usual suspects of Ruddles, Doom Bar and Abbot duplicated and usually a decent choice of other cask ales, including Blind Poet from New River and Redemption Big Chief (both £3.09) and others from Tring, Nethergate Trople fff and Moorhouse's

An impressive Spoons, as previously mentioned in a vast and ancient barn (which was actually moved here in 1938), with a smaller barn and outbuildings attached. There is also a nice patio outside. Aside from the splendid surroundings it is pretty standard and predictable, although the general level of service seemed ok and there were 4 good guest ales on; the Burton Bridge Stairway to Heaven was in good form although one of our number thought the Portobello brew was past it.

The trick with finding this one is just aim for the Alban Arena as it is basically next door. Now I’ve drunk in several Wetherspoons that resembled barns but this was probably a first for a Wetherspoons that was a barn, or two bolted together as the previous reviewer says.
Absolutely mobbed out at 6pm last Saturday evening and we initially struggled to find an available table.
Fortunately our visit coincided with their beer festival, so alongside the usual trilogy of doom that was out in force I also had the options of East London Brewing Bedrock ESB, Burning Sky Dignified and Old, By the Horns Foundry Stout and Redemption Red Eye Rye Red Ale, which I didn’t think was too shabby at all, especially as they were all priced at £2.74.
It’s a Spoons so you already know the service issues, but I was able to get served fairly promptly at the bar instead of having to fight the app, and our nosebag ordered from the laminated card of delights promptly arrived at our table. So all in all, fit for purpose for us.
