Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Draper's Arms (JD Wetherspoon)

The name explains the original purpose of this 1899 building, but it has converted into a 'spoons quite well since it is not just one big rectangular space. It benefits from having a variety of different seating / dining areas, including a number of booths, with the only real downside being the dark woodwork making some areas away from the front windows feel a bit gloomy. As usual, a pretty good selection from the 12 handpumps on this visit, with regulars such as Brewsters Hophead (£2.78), Titanic Plum Porter, Grainstore's Ten Fifty and Gulp IPA from Frome plus Jaipur and beers from Rudgate, Conwy and Little Valley, in addition to the standard trio of Ruddles, Doom Bar and Abbot.

Old skool dark varnished wood panelled Spoons, long and narrow with three distinct areas and booth seating, converted in 2005 with a further expansion in 2020. The display cabinet with inlaid at the front of the pub is nice, as is the stained glass in the front window uppers. Six (!) guest ales of mainly fighting strength. The place is regularly GBG listed and my pint of Plum Porter was excellent (NBSS 4). I really enjoyed myself in here, feels like a proper well-run drinkers pub rather than a generic Spoons-U-Like. It was my pub of the day in Peterborough, taking-in all the GBG 2024 entries. 8.5

Strongers . left this review about The Draper's Arms (JD Wetherspoon)

The Draper’s Arms is a long and thin Wetherspoons with high tables and beer shelves with stools around thick pillars at the front of the pub. Booth seating runs down the left wall opposite the bar that runs down the right and at the rear is open plan seating. A couple of televisions were showing muted World Cup football build up, expect rolling news any other time. The bar supports standard and premium keg as well as 12 hand pumps that were drawing Titanic’s Plum Porter, Bateman’s Rosey Nosey, Greene King Fireside, Nethergate’s Growler, Frome Brewing’s Gulp IPA, Grainstore’s Ten Fifty and Brewster’s Hophead plus the usual mainstream suspects. I found the service to be efficient and thought this to easily be the better of the two Spoons in town.
