The Straw Hat is a Craft Union pub that sits behind paving lined with picnic tables on the edge of a parade of local shops. The serving counter up the right-hand wall supports standard and premium keg alongside two hand pumps, one of which was in operation drawing Wainwright. This counter serves a front bar with banquettes across the front window and lots of high tables crammed into the left-hand side, and a rear bar that houses a pool table and dartboard as well as a bit more seating. Televisions throughout were airing Olympics via BBC and Racing TV, Sky and TNT Sports are advertised. A typical Craft Union pub.

A fairly sterile estate pub. Two rather bland rooms with one housing a pool table. Seating is mainly along the walls and windows. No real ale so bland lagers and bitters.
